The Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) examination was introduced in December 1991, to provide a high-level qualification for individuals wishing to use English for professional or academic purposes. The CAE also provides evidence of ability for those wishing to prepare for the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English [CPE] examination. The Cambridge CAE is a qualification that certifies competence in English, and it is equivalent to ALTE Level 4 [The Association of Language Testers in Europe]. The Cambridge CAE exam is held in March, June, and December, and each year there are over 60,000 candidates representing more than 175 nationalities. If you plan to sit the Cambridge CAE exam, you may wish to study with a personal tutor who is able to identify the weak points in your English and focus your efforts in the right direction.
